Making Sense of the Census

Tom Doig is a social historian whose talk ranges from Bethlehem to lunatic asylums, but focuses on information in the censuses of 1841 to 18911, how details were recorded, and problems that they can present. No matter which census you use, you can read between the lines to make informed assessments of the lives led by your ancestors.

This talk will follow a short annual branch meeting.
