Was Your Ancestor a Criminal?

Dr Colin Chapman will describe the offences that were regarded as crimes in the 18th and 19th centuries in Britain, and the severe punishments that followed conviction. He will then ask: “Was your ancestor a criminal?” Dr Chapman has published and lectured extensively, founded five county family history societies, is a vice-president of the Society of Genealogists and is a life vice-president of the Federation of Family History Societies.
