'Kinderlandverschickung': The internal evacuation of German children in WW2

'Kinderlandverschickung' had a greater political bias than in Britain and was influenced greatly by the philosophy of the Hitler Youth. This talk will provide an insight into its planning and eventual demise and look at the effect it had on not only the children, but also on the parents. This is a topic which is rarely, if ever, taught in schools.

Presented by Prof Martin Parsons, who is a Research Fellow and honorary Life Fellow at the University of Reading, where he previously led the Research centre for Evacuee and War Child Studies.
