Rev John Bacon was a Victorian polymath: an astronomer, scientist, adventurer, pyrotechnician and prankster. Known as the Scientific Balloonist for his experiments aloft, he was a pioneer aerial photographer who coinvented the balloon hot-air burner.
This exhibition will tell the story in words and pictures of Reverend John Bacon (1846 - 1904), a remarkable Victorian man, born at Lambourn Woodlands, educated at Cambridge University and who came to live in Cold Ash, West Berkshire.
