Anthony Pick

Chairman

Anthony Pick moved to Newbury in 1981.  He joined the Executive Committee of the Newbury Society in 2004 and is currently Planning Secretary.  He has been involved with Heritage Open Days in Newbury since 2008.  Following a distinguished career in local and district government, he is currently Chairman of Newbury’s Heritage Working Party. He had previously been Chairman of the Newbury and District National Trust Association for the years 2007-12, and joined the West Berkshire Heritage Forum at its inception in 2010. He has been Chair of the Forum since 2011.

Susan Ellis

Secretary

Susan Ellis is an amateur historian who moved to Thatcham in 1983 and has since become immersed in the history of West Berkshire.  She is Secretary to the West Berkshire Heritage Forum and Treasurer of Thatcham Historical Society, a member of Thatcham Town Council’s Heritage Working Party, and has recently been elected as Chair of the Greenham and Crookham Commons Commission. She is very much involved in West Berkshire’s Local Listing process, which identifies and celebrates buildings and other heritage assets of local importance. Now retired from a career working in libraries and in local government, she carries out part time information consultancy, and indulges her love of ancient buildings and archaeology.

Beth Asbury

Nathan Gregory is the chairman of the Thatcham Town Council Heritage Working Party, currently involved in a community led blue plaque process for Thatcham. He is a researcher and writer interested in military history, Royalty, and Berkshire local history.
