The West Berkshire Heritage Forum AGM was held at the Old Bluecoat School, Chapel Street, Thatcham, RG19 3JG on 28th May 2026. The AGM was followed by an excellent talk by Keith Abbott MA Secretary of the Berkshire Archaeological Society on “Investigations along Ermin Street and the road to Bath in Roman West Berkshire”. This outlined work carried out by BAS to review both the older investigations of the Roman road, and also minor excavations to identify the route of the road where its existence was uncertain or unproven. The results have given the Society a clear idea of the likely route but also of the possible existence of intersecting roads running up to Ermin Street.
