A Blue Plaque to Mrs Isabella Pike and Mrs Anna Munro-Ashman will be unveiled at Thatcham Parish Hall as part of the Thatcham Festival events. Following the Khaki Election of December 14th 1918, women were first enfranchised. Thatcham went to the polls a few months later and on 7th April 1919, two ladies were duly elected to serve - Mrs Isabella Pike and Mrs Anna Munro-Ashman. Mrs Munro-Ashman was a well known advocate and campaigner of women's suffrage.
All welcome to attend. The unveiling by the Mayor of Thatcham and the High Sherriff of Berkshire will be followed by refreshments in the Parish hall and a talk by Steve Masters.
