The stories and characters from Shaw House's past are brought to life in an exhibition for the Heritage Weekend. This includes items of interest from all periods, including a Royal Grant dated 1557, notebooks from the 1570's and items from the archaeological excavations. There is also an exhibition, "Shaw Before the House" exploring the archaeological past of the landscape before the house was built. During your visit you can also see the most significant historical rooms of the house, although these are unfurnished, as nothing remained in the house after it ceased to be a family home.
There will be introductory talks in the Hall at 11.30, 12.30, 13.30 and 14.30 and visitors will be able to tour the house following these talks. No booking required.
