Military historian Alan Turton gives a talk on Henry VIII's restored warship 'The Mary Rose' now housed in a purpose built museum in Portsmouth. Alan is a military historian specialising in the English Civil War and the period up to the mid 18th century. From 1987 to 2011 he was curator of the site of Basing House, hampshire, which underwent the longest siege in the history of the English Civil War, and was once the largest private house in Tudor England.
