The Swing Riots

Local Historian John Trigg provides an insight into the so-called 'Swing Riots' of the 1830's when labourers rose up against the technology they felt had threatened their livelihoods, and became machine breakers, led by the eponymous 'Captain Swing'.

Members free, non-members £2 per meeting.

New members may join for a reduced rate of £6 (gives admission to the four remaining meteings of the year, including the June meeting).
