West Berkshire Museum

West Berkshire Museum is housed in two of Newbury's best loved historic buiildings, the 17th century Cloth Hall, and the old Granary/Corn Stores in The Wharf. Entry is free but donations are most welcome. The Museum houses a series of special exhibitions, as well as a permanent exhibition (Lives and Landscapes). There is a valuable library resource, and staff and volunteers are available to answer enquiries. The Museum also has a cafe. It opesn Wednesdays to Sundays 10am to 4pm, and also on bank holidays.

The Mills Archive Trust

The Mills Archive was established in 2002 as a permanent repository for historical and contemporary material on traditional mills and milling, and to make that material available for public inspection and use in research and learning. It has rescued over 1 million documents and images that might otherwise have ended up in a landfill site.

Newbury Library

The library provides internet access and a wide range of other services to its users and members. The library has a large collection of local history and genealogy materials, including maps and online resources such as Ancestry and the British Newspaper Library.
