English Heritage reports on a project assessing the value of Community-led Research, undertaken by Worcestershire Archive and Archaeology Service.

Worryingly, the research found that although a substantial amount of research is carried out by community groups, a high percentage of community-led research by history groups and some research undertaken by archaeological groups is not reported back to Historic Environment Records (HERs). Historic England is now looking at what can be done to ensure that more of the results of these projects reach the archives which they could inform.
