Following a meeting of the Local Listing Panel on Monday 31st March 2025, seven heritage assets have been recommended for Local Listing. They are:
- Luker Court, Ireland Drive, Newbury – the former Girls Grammar School, later part of St Barts
- Wormestall Grange, Enborne Road, Newbury – the former Boys Grammar School, later part of St Barts
- Jennetts Hill Pump, Stanford Dingley – a Joseph Evans water pump from 1902
- The Parish Room, Stanford Dingley – formerly the Boys Clubroom
- John Morton’s Chapel, Bucklebury – a non-conformist chapel built for the local preacher, Rev John Morton
- A WW2 air raid shelter, in a private garden in Bucklebury
- The Cemetery Chapel, London Road, Thatcham – designed by local architect James H Money
The recommendations will now go forward to West Berkshire District Council for a consultation, following which they will be considered for approval to add to the existing Local List. The Local List, which now contains 47 heritage assets across the District, can be found here.
