The Brylcreem Boys

Rehearsed reading of Peter Durrant's classic play.

1944 and Aircraftman George Nunn falls asleep while guarding an airfield and gets frostbite in his face. He is taken to the nearest hospital but quickly realises that the other patients, all RAF bomber crew, are there for very different reasons to him. Initially bemused by their odd behaviour, he comes to understand it that night when he joins them as they re-enact their experience of the ill-fated raid on Nuremberg.

Playwright Peter Durrant will introduce the evening and explain the personal story behind the play which will then be presented by students of Park House School, directed by Andy Kempe, Emeritus Professor of Drama Education, University of Reading.

Doors open at 7pm, and the event is 7.30pm – 8.45pm.
