Visit to Ankerwycke (Berkshire) and Runnymede (Surrey)

Join National Trust archaeologist James Brown at Ankerwycke this October for a guided walk around the site, sharing the most recent excavation findings and insight as well as the wider story. The site is a hive of intrigue with both a Medieval nunnery, a Tudor mansion and possibly more sited within the investigation area. The walk will last approx. 2.5 hours, and the route is accessible but may include well-surfaced pathways, muddy footpaths and some grazing cattle. Attendees will have the option to visit Runnymede afterwards to independently explore sites like “Writ In Water”, the JFK memorial and new willow structures using the National Trust’s new audio trails.

Meet for a 10.30am start - Meeting place to be advised once your place is booked. £5 members of CBA, £8 non-members. Limit of 15 places.
