For over 700 years, a small chapel has stood at the eastern end of Thatcham on the main London to Bath Road. The chapel is one of the oldest buildings in West Berkshire and is a Grade I Listed Building. In 2004, the Thatcham (Old Bluecoat School) Charity was established with the aim of raising funds to repair the building for the advancement of education and to provide leisure and recreation facilities.
