Hungerford Virtual Museum
A partnership established to record, promote and protect the heritage of West Berkshire
West Berkshire Museum is housed in two of Newbury's best loved historic buiildings, the 17th century Cloth Hall, and the old Granary/Corn Stores in The Wharf. Entry is free but donations are most welcome. The Museum houses a series of special exhibitions, as well as a permanent exhibition (Lives and Landscapes). There is a valuable library resource, and staff and volunteers are available to answer enquiries. The Museum also has a cafe. It opesn Wednesdays to Sundays 10am to 4pm, and also on bank holidays.
Greenham Common Control Tower opened its doors in Summer 2018 as a visitor centre and community hub with the aim to preserve and share the historical legacy of one of the few remaining airfield buildings. Telling the story of Greenham Common whilst supporting and cooperating with local organisations for the benefit of the whole community.
The control tower offers an open space to enjoy the common. Cafe and Museum open Wednesday,Thursday and Friday 10.30 to 15:00, Saturday to Sunday 10:00-16.00. Rooms and venue available for event hire.
